This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on the Fuel Rats’ owned and operated websites, apps, IRC network, and any other devices and platforms.
Information We Collect
When creating an account you will be asked to enter an email address, in-game name, and a password.
Email addresses are only used for logging-in, password-resets, responding to emails that you initiate, and notifications that you request, as well as notifications about changes to our privacy policy or terms of service. We do not send promotional emails.
We store information about your Fuel Rats rescues, drills, public chat messages, support tickets, and any Elite: Dangerous in-game data you give us such as the name of commanders or ships.
Technical Basis
We use cookies and tokens in your browser’s and apps’ local storage to keep you logged in. Our server software also stores basic technical information such as your user agent and IP address. This information is deleted after 90 days.
Transactions
If you purchase products from our web store or make a donation, we may collect your name, address, email address, and information about the product you are purchasing. Payments are processed by the third-party payment processor Stripe, so please refer to their privacy policy for more information about how payment information is processed and stored.
Instancing Problem Reports
In cooperation with Frontier Developments we have a programme where users of the Fuel Rats can voluntarily submit networking logs from Elite: Dangerous to help Frontier reduce problems with networking. These logs contain information about your operating system, game version, home networking setup, data sent between you and Frontier’s servers, and data sent between you and other players. If you submit a networking log, you agree to share this information with certain members of the Fuel Rats’ technical team, as well as Frontier’s networking team.
Information usage
We use the information we collect to operate and improve our website, apps, and support.
We do not share personal information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to accomplish Fuel Rats’ functionality.
We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violation of our policies; or to protect our rights and property.
We may share information in response to an emergency if we believe it’s necessary to prevent imminent and serious bodily harm to a person.
Security
We implement a variety of security measures to help keep your information secure. For instance, all communication with Fuel Rat applications and websites requires HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, not stored in plaintext, using industry-standard methods.
Accessing, changing, or deleting your information
You may disable your Fuel Rats account from your profile on fuelrats.com. Your profile will then be hidden from public view but will still be stored on our servers.
You may contact gdpr@fuelrats.com to request a copy of all information stored about you, or to request a permanent deletion of all your data.
You may change your Fuel Rats account information (such as email address) at any time by submitting a ticket to http://t.fuelr.at/help or emailing support@fuelrats.com.
Deleted information may be kept in backups for up to 90 days. Backups are only accessed if needed for disaster recovery.
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We never collect or maintain information at our website from those we know are under 13, individuals under the age of 13 may not create an account or otherwise access or use the services.
International Transfers of Information
Information may be processed, stored, and used outside of the country in which you are located. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may be applicable to your data depending on where it is processed, stored, or used. All identifiable information collected by the Fuel Rats is stored in Germany and is subject to EU Data Protection regulations.
